Robot Witch doesn’t just blend genres, it liquefies them into a signature alloy. “Take Me To The Show”, the long-awaited debut album from Matt Lubus’ Milwaukee-based project, delivers an electric and emotional 40-minute journey that refuses to stay in one lane. From rock to electronic, punk to industrial, each track feels like a one-way ticket to a live show happening inside your own head.
The album opens with raw energy, led by the full band. A standout, “Town”, was born on a snowy night from a spontaneous jam between Matt and guitarist Adam. The lyrics, written in a stream-of-consciousness style, later revealed themselves to be deeply personal. The second half of the album shifts into more introspective territory, filled with solo demos and remixes from Matt that evoke the dancefloor, the lounge, and the long walk home, a sonic arc that mirrors the emotional stages of a night out.
The influences are present but never imitated.
