A solo project by Swiss musician Olivier Cornu from Lausanne, Moon Construction Kit reaffirms here an identity built between the meticulous craftsmanship of the home studio and a sonic imagination that dialogues with different generations of alternative pop. If the first EP of 2022 already hinted at a fascination with detailed arrangements, “Snake Charmer” expands this ambition by bringing the song closer to a small cinematic scene: crystalline piano, Mellotron, and layers of 60s psychedelia create an atmosphere that recalls both the confessional melancholy of Elliott Smith and the ironic refinement of Father John Misty, with ornamental echoes that could converse with Jon Brion or even the dark colors of Temples.
