Swimming against this current, Australian composer Amanda Emblem adopts an approach of patient observation. Less than a year after releasing her album ‘The Wood’, her project, The Amanda Emblem Experiment, presents the EP ‘Lazy Sunday’. Spanning three tracks and just under nine minutes, the EP serves as an exercise in editing and self-critique, distilling the essence of previously lengthy songs to test their resilience in more concise formats.
Recorded amidst the rural tranquility of Queensland, the work bears the marks of geographic isolation and a connection to nature as key elements of its sonic identity.
