Instead of emulating the childhood comfort of the CRT screen, the version released in mid-2026 dives into the gray textures and urban urgency of that era’s underground Toronto scene.
The track distances itself from innocent escapism by embracing a dense atmosphere where the dark synth work of Detroit veteran Steve Greene collides with the guitar playing of the enigmatic The Swamp Wizard. The contrast works intriguingly.
