In Nothing New, an EP recorded at Element Studios in Kansas City with producer Joel Nanos and released in September 2026, American musician Jared Bond sheds light on the period immediately following his departure from the Josephine Collective, the band where he served as drummer from 2006 to 2010. Backed by the band The Tornadoes (Joseph Peakes on guitar, Baird Williams on bass, and Caleb Berciiunas on drums), the record acts as both a lyrical and sonic bridge between the itinerant life of touring and the quest for stability.
The work’s sound draws explicitly from early 2000s alternative rock, echoing the emotional intensity of Brand New, the atmospheric textures of Mew, and the measured post-rock of The Appleseed Cast.
