A transformação da faixa não vem de um estúdio corporativo, mas da casa do jovem produtor Harry Kook — filho do guitarrista Jim Kook — em Hertfordshire. Ao receber liberdade irrestrita sobre o acervo do grupo, Harry descola a gravação de sua atmosfera densa e soturna original, acelerando a andamento para encaixá-la na dinâmica do EDM contemporâneo.

Formed in the northern suburbs of London in 1989, the story of the group The Sway mirrors the ups and downs of the British indie scene. Before the Britpop explosion shifted the industry’s focus in the 1990s, the band drew on influences ranging from alternative rock to the dance-infused hybrids of acts like Jesus Jones and Happy Mondays. After a series of hiatuses, comebacks, and re-releases that kept their discography alive, the quartet, comprising David Casson, Jim Kook, Paul Hogan, and Sean Kelly, finds the fuel to keep going in their own shared history.
The release of THE SWAY – FEASTING 2026 (HK MIX) reimagines this legacy by revisiting “Feasting on My Friends,” the B-side to their 1992 debut single produced by Mongerman. This transformation didn’t take place in a corporate studio, but rather at the Hertfordshire home of young producer Harry Kook, son of guitarist Jim Kook. Given free rein over the band’s archives, Harry stripped the recording of its original dense, moody atmosphere and sped up the tempo to align it with the dynamics of contemporary EDM.
This generational bridge, spanning the 90s garage-band era and the age of home production software, illustrates how indie music transcends barriers of time and logistics.
