In her new single, “Against the Wall,” the Berklee College of Music graduate delivers not only the technical virtuosity expected of a John LaPorta Award winner; she offers a sonic manifesto on persistence.
The track anticipates the album “Behind the Universe” and carries the structural legacy of giants like Pat Metheny and Chick Corea, but with a contemporary freshness that avoids sterile academicism. The composition moves through odd time signatures and dense harmonies, mirroring the song’s own theme: the friction necessary to generate change.
